Enjoy a relaxing wine experience in New Zealand’s fastest growing wine region.
You will be collected by your guide and either be driven or fly by helicopter, north of Christchurch to Waipara Valley. The vineyards are nestled in the lee of the Teviotdale Hills that provide protection from cool easterly winds but open to warm north west winds. The north facing moderately sloping terrain provides an ideal sun trap for fruiting vines. When this is combined with the long hot autumn period, unique rich and spicy Pinot Noir and Riesling’s are produced. There are also some spectacular Chardonnays produced near Waikari. Your guide will select several wineries for you to visit, depending on the season, availability of the winery, staff and the weather. Enjoy tastings at each of the wineries as well as the opportunity to talk to the passionate characters involved in their production.To cap off your fantastic day, you will have lunch at one of our final destinations, either Pegasus Bay Winery or Black Estate.
